Italian-born Susanna Perini is the creative brains and braun behind BIASA. She started the business back when Seminyak was a relatively sleepy area of Bali with rice fields as far as the eye could see.

The BIASA concept knows no bounds and since its humble beginnings 20 years ago; now they operate out of six dedicated retail spaces across all of Indonesia. The most well known and interesting of the lot is the BIASA + space on Jalan Raya in Seminyak, a colourful hub of art and contemporary design, with a huge and eclectic mix of lifestyle, art and fashion on offer.

Also a thriving retail locale, the first floor focusses on menswear, womenswear, sarongs, scarves and accessories – a special mention going to the incredibly large collection of vintage sunglasses. On the second floor, art is incorporated and carefully curated by the team to showcase many Indonesian and international artists all year round.

BIASA clothing has long been known for its combination of interesting cuts paired with the finest natural materials, full of artisanal details – fans of the label say that is what makes this label so unique. The artisanal nature of the product is accented by the hand dying and weaving techniques used during the production process.

BIASA + is host to a market every Friday night market in their luscious garden where you can expect to see more of what they purvey on a daily basis, plus traditional Balinese refreshments and locally sourced organic produce. Entertainment is provided by some of Bali’s most talented emerging musicians and performers. If you are looking for something beautiful to adorn yourself or your walls at home, then they may just have the treasure you are looking for.

BIASA+ is the culmination of Susanna’s absolute passion for bringing quality collections of fashion, art and lifestyle products to her clientele.
