You may feel like you have seen Hanging Gardens before… The incredible multi-tiered curved infinity pool that sweeps through the middle of the resort is one of the most photographed in the world, and rightly so as it was voted in as #1 in Condé Nast Traveller’s ‘best swimming pools in the world’. The resort is located in the heart of Payangan Village, outside of Ubud. The grounds are set over an impressive 32 hectares of spectacular Balinese jungle and have been inspired by the serenity of the natural surroundings.

Not only is this place incredibly picturesque, it is also aims to be self sufficient and produces chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and a wide variety of tropical fruits; all of which are used in the cooking and spa products. The spa offers many different treatments adopting ancient Balinese techniques to soothe and relax each guest.

When it comes to where you will sleep, there are four varying accommodation configurations. Contemporary Balinese furnishings adorn each one and amazingly you will find you have your own infinity pool which ever villa you choose to stay in. Extravagance is clearly what Hanging Gardens do best.

If breakfasts by the private pool is what you desire, then your wish is their command. You can also enjoy a private dining experience in the comfort of your own room or an early dinner after your day of adventuring in the rainforest.

The River café focusses on healthier options and will provide you with freshly made salads and wraps, as well as cold pressed juices; all made with sustainable and locally sourced produce.

Of course there is a five star restaurant for those wanting more of a fine dining experience. A notable mention goes to the grilled river prawns served with estate grown organic avocados, mangos, papaya and red radish sambal. Delish!
