Attending the Jonny Freesh raw food cooking class is a must if you are planning a trip to Ubud. The interactive and fun classes, courses and workshops are held in a private kitchen about 10 minutes outside of the town centre. You’ll need to book though and put a 50% deposit down as they are super popular and on average will last around 3.5 hours.

How do we even begin to describe the man behind this cooking class? Above all else, Jonny Freesh is a charismatic raw food chef and rapper. Yes, that’s right, a rapper. Raw food is his thing and his life revolves around imparting his boundless knowledge onto all who cross his path via music, talks and teaching. Originally hailing from Canada, Jonny now calls Ubud his home and has been championing the raw food movement ever since. He spends his time writing blogs, teaching and creating recipes for his cook books – all involving raw food of course!

During a cooking class with Jonny Freesh you’ll have a smile from ear to ear while you prepare some really outrageously tasty raw food dishes that will make your tummy smile as well. He will inspire you to change the way you think about cooking and healthy living and the experience of making dishes and tasting them for the first time will stay with you forever.

His recipe repertoire is just as extensive as his musical talents with dishes on the list like Raw Hazelnut Chocolate Cake, Pineapple Acai Bowl Chia Pudding, Asian Wheatgrass Soup, Raw Smokey Siesta Wraps and Creamy Durian Wasabi White Pepper Sauce – As you can see, interesting and unconventional is what Jonny does best.

Also, make sure you keep your ear to the ground when in Ubud as you may well be able to catch Jonny at an open mic night at a bar in town. If you get the chance to see him in action away from the kitchen you will not be disappointed!
