Smack bang between the chaos of Kuta and the swank of Seminyak, we find ourselves the forgotten one; the middle child; the strange blend – Legian.

Overshadowed by its neighbours though it may be, Legian remains a perfect place to bunker down in a nest of convenience.

Surf schools, cheap shopping, and a broad mix of accommodation options are Legian’s trademarks. Hit Jalan Padma for a well-priced stretch of family friendly dining overlooking Legian’s popular Ocean Beach. Stroll down Jalan Arjuna for countless towers of sarongs and a never-ending selection of jewellery. And make a day of Jalan Legian for a bliss-educing day of eating, shopping and spa indulging.

Beyond its blurred boarders, scoot a few minutes south to enjoy Kuta’s shopping mall scene, drifting between Discovery, Beachwalk and Galeria. A short cab ride north and you will hit the boutique-brimming Seminyak followed shortly after by the rice fields and surf vibes of chilled out Canggu. Such is the benefit of Legian; it’s not too far from any of South Bali’s hotspots.
