Rimba Reptile Park is located directly next the Bali Bird Park in Batubulan. To get here you may want to hire a driver for the day or your hotel should be able to arrange a shuttle bus as a part of a tour group out the area. Here yo will be able to get up close and personal with some critters that are native to Indonesia and let’s just say that it is not the best kind of experience for the non adventurous folk out there.

This park houses one of the biggest collections of reptiles and amphibian creatures in the country. Among the scaled friends you will make upon a visit are massive Komodo dragons, frogs, snakes, lizards, turtles, crocodiles and pythons. The setting is specifically designed to mimic the natural habitats of the animals and we must say, they do live in total paradise. Tropical gardens will surround you with streams and waterfalls around every corner, it will take you hours to explore everything down each pathway in the park.

Most of the reptiles can be viewed very safely by guests from behind glass where the creatures hang from vines, trees and walls and others bask on giant rocks in the sun that streams into their enclosures. If you are feeling particularly brave or have an affinity with the slithery ones, then you are invited to join handlers in an open air courtyard where you can interact with the more social animals. And of course there is a photographer waiting to take your photo with one of their very heavy but super lovely 6 metre pythons –  you can even have that photo printed onto a t-shirt for all to see!

This attraction is open from 9:00 am – 6:00pm every day of the week and yes, you must exit through the gift shop.
