The Dandelion is a gorgeous little warung located in busy Canggu. Upon arrival you will most likely see the owner Gani perched in front of his typewriter in the middle of his restaurant. He is a well known man in this part of town and his beautiful nature and affinity for making friends is part of the reason The Dandelion has become frequented by so many people from near and far.

The vibe you will witness in this restaurant is so chilled, you’ll actually feel like you are eating in the living room of a friendly local, because you pretty much are – Gani prides himself and his business on making sure his staff and guests feel like part of his family. He is a total natural when it comes to hospitality and makes sure he remembers every single one of his customers names. As Gani is a man of many talents, you will be able to sample some of his poetry which is written on the back of the menu.

The warung is full of old handmade wooden Balinese furniture with lots of cushions around so you will feel comfortable when you are dining. The food and drink is delightful with all of the Indonesian favourites like Chicken Sate, Gado Gado and Naai Goreng on the menu. Some interesting additions on the beverage menu that you might not see served elsewhere are the super fresh soda mixers. Tamarind, orange and honey are stirred through the fizzy water and served as a refreshing and cleansing beverage before you eat. Some of Gani’s recipes are 1300 years old and are known to have been used for healing purposes as an alternative to western medicine.

Head in and see Gani whenever you want – The Dandelion is open midday until 10pm, 7 days a week.
