Timbis Beach is a truly beautiful stretch of beach located on the very south coast of Bali. The views from the area at the top of the cliffs will take your breath away as you look out into the boundless waters of the Indian Ocean below. The white sand and rolling waves look inviting and a day on the beach here is very enjoyable. This spot is very much secluded with not many resorts or villas having popped up here yet.

Although the water is crystal clear and the sand pristine, Timbis Beach is most well known for paragliding. Yes, that’s right. If you want to jump off a cliff while you’re attached to a local flight instructor in a tandem paragliding trip then this is the place to do it. There are several aero clubs you can go with, it’s just a matter of researching which packages and teams you like the best.

Timbis Aero Club offer paragliding courses that will have you learning everything you need to know to get your paragliding license. If that sounds a little out of you comfort zone, then you can experience this adrenalin rush while flying with an instructor that has thousands of hours under their belt. There is no reason not to feel safe when jumping with these guys as they have won several awards of excellence in the adventure sports industry.

What better was to take in the brilliant views of the area, you will actually feel like you’re gliding like an eagle high up in the sky. Between May and October every year, the winds change and roll out towards the sea in this cliff area which makes the paragliding possible. There is a stretch of ridge 12 kilometres where you can fly off and it ranges from 100 to 1000 feet above sea level.

You may choose to stay in the area to attend a paragliding course or you could alternatively hire a driver for the day if you are staying further away. This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area but is definitely not for those of you who are faint of heart or scared of heights. Paragliding over Timbis Beach is a once in a lifetime experience and will certainly have your blood pumping when you land right by the water in the drop zone.
