From the name alone you get a sense of what Mata Air Villa is all about. Mata Air means Spring Water and true to the name this spectacular five bedroom luxury villa is soothing and refreshing. Nestled into a bend in the River Pangi and with a number of stunning water features the villa is surrounded by water. Located in Canggu the villa is approximately 25 minutes from Seminyak and 55 minutes to the airport.
The style of Mata Air mixes traditional Bali with contemporary flair. After crossing the threshold of the narrow Angkul-Angkul (Balinese door) you enter your own private 5 bedroom (fully-staffed) sanctuary.
A spacious central lounge and dining pavilion is the heart of the villa, while just down the steps is an open grassed area flanked by shingle roofed sleeping pavilions — one with its own multi-media room and a secret garden and another with its own terrace and massage space! Oh they luxury!
Then there’s the Pièce de résistance — an infinity pool cascading over the river’s edge. Floating in the pool, lounging on the deck or relaxing in the bale, you’re surrounded by river, rice fields and blue skies. Does it get much more Bali than that?
The villa can host a group of up to ten of your family and friends, but even at full capacity there’s still plenty of opportunity for some restful peace and quiet. One nice surprise is a secluded studio pavilion hidden along the bend of the river. It has its own kitchenette, TV and lounge area, plus a deck to soak up the river and rice field view. Bags the studio for yourself and you’ll have a secluded escape away from everyone else in the villa.
If you decide to leave the villa — and let’s be honest, you may not want to — there are plenty of things to keep you amused in Canggu. If you’re a surfer, you’re just a 5 minute drive to the renowned Echo Beach (car and driver included). But even if you’re not a surfer, Echo Beach has cafes and activities to keep everyone happy and you’re just 20 minutes away from the action in Seminyak. So Mata Air Villa has style and location.
