La Casetta has been dubbed ‘Best Italian food in Bali’ by many guests who have visited, and rightly so as their dishes are made with absolute authenticity. Located in Kerobakan, the restaurant is rather small but certainly packs a big punch with its huge menu. Everything is done just how Nonna used to cook it; all pizza dough and pasta is made from scratch with the best ingredients and know how available on the island.

The staff are very friendly and know the menu inside out so they are able to recommend specials and their personal favourites. Excellent and very prompt service is provided to all guests upon arrival which is one of the many reasons that keeps people coming back time after time. Once you have been seated and tended to by one of the waiters, you can expect to be delighted with a complimentary plate of seaweed dough balls and garlic focaccia.

The pizza at La Casetta is the perfect balance of crispy and thick, the toppings aren’t packed on but there’s definitely enough to create a tasty explosion in your mouth. The pizzas range in price from 65k -90k and if you wish, extra toppings are only an additional 20k.

All the handmade pastas have the most delicious sauce accompaniments, 35 to be exact. Of course all the old favourites are there, including bolognese, pesto and carbonara. They also have some wickedly indulgent options like potato gnocchi with a four cheese sauce, tortellini stuffed with four cheeses in ham, mushroom and cream sauce or a pumpkin ravioli in a butter and sage sauce – all with generous lashings of parmesan cheese and freshly cracked pepper. Molto bene!

If the thought of the massive carbohydrate intake is too much for you in the Balinese humidity, La Casetta’s salads are beautifully refreshing. The insalata Di Mare and Pomodoro e basilico are two major crowd pleasers. The drinks menu consists of beautiful Italian wines and also other international favourites, beers, soft drinks and of course any coffee you can think of, it is an Italian restaurant after all.

La Casetta is open 7pm – 11pm Sundays and 9am -11pm Monday through Saturday. Reservations are advisable.
